Before speaking, please state your name. Committee members are expected to:
· Be on time· Read the minutes, agenda and supporting documents before each meeting· Participate in ideas and conversations, as well as pause to allow others to share input· Commit to spending the whole meeting time present and not engage in other activities during the meeting.Technology
The first few minutes of every meeting will be dedicated to addressing any connectivity issues, to ensure everyone can hear other meeting participants.

Public comments
The committee encourages public participants to share their thoughts and ask questions about committee activities at the beginning of each meeting. The committee will continue on to the next agenda item when either 1) 30 minutes have passed or 2) when there are no additional comments or questions, whichever comes first.

Updates to share
245D rountable discussions
· Providers are invited to join staff from the DHS Disability Services and Licensing divisions for a series of roundtable discussions to discuss various topics providers face when they meet specific 245D requirements. Providers will have an opportunity to share their experiences, ask questions and hear what others are doing.
Direct care workforce shortage
· DHS staff, in partnership with EPRC members, are providing monthly updates for lead agencies to share information and strategies for improving access to assistive technology. See February’s announcement.· DHS is working with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry to share resources for recruitment and retention. · The workforce development grant legislative report is being routed for approval and will be shared publicly soon. · There are many legislative proposals currently under consideration to address the workforce shortage. Bills can be viewed and tracked from the Minnesota Legislature bill search and status webpage. · The Disability Services Division is looking at modifying its contract with Star Services so they can help providers with recruitment, training and retention.
Subcommittee updates
Requests for approval subcommittee
· This subcommittee recently visited with a person and his team virtually and found it to be helpful. Emergency use of manual restraint subcommittee
· This subcommittee thought it might be helpful to set criteria for when we should or should not do on-site visits. · They discussed how it’s important to give committee members and care teams flexibility, as some people might be more comfortable than others doing in-person visits anytime soon.· Webex visits are always an option – committee members are welcome to ask Stacie Enders for a meeting link if they would like to meet virtually with a care team. · The committee will continue to review their two core responsibilities sheets, Fredda Brown’s letter about the committee, the committee’s role and how things have changed with COVID-19 and workforce shortage. · The committee will review and develop recommendations for their 2021 Olmstead report, which is due by June.
