  • Updates to share

    Direct care workforce shortage

  • · The traditional PCA training stipends are still available. DHS continues to advertise that opportunity, particularly to underrepresented communities. The grant managers recently learned they have until June 2024, not March 2024, to distribute the remaining grant funds.
  • · The SEIU retention bonuses are currently being distributed.
  • · The Disability Services Division will know its legislative priorities in a few weeks, so more information will be shared with the committee in December.
  • Discussion

    Review of annual recommendations

2023 Goal 2: Simplify and organize online DHS materials and training resources related to positive supports or intervention services

  • · Five more topic page drafts were completed this past month, though there are many left to develop.
  • · The new psychotropic medication manual is complete but we are still waiting on the related forms to be developed and linked into the manual before announcing it.
  • 2023 Goal 3: Explore ways to improve access to positive support services

  • · The request for proposals (RFP) for the Intervention Services Study has been posted online. The deadline to apply is Nov. 27, 2023. More information can be found at: Aging and disability services announcement: RFP for intervention services study.
