  • Updates to share

    Direct care workforce shortage

Training stipends to qualify for the enhanced rate are still available for traditional PCA professionals through June 2024. The vendor has been marketing through Somali TV, Spanish radio, etc. to reach additional audiences. We have distributed 97 stipends so far.

    Discussion

    New resources for supporting communication

The committee reviewed two new resources for supporting communication:

  • · It was recommended to provide a form/open text boxes for providers to fill out as they go through the steps.
  • · It was recommended to consider a format that would make it easy to view the instructions on phones, tablets or other small devices.
  • · The first example in the instructional sheet had the following language added: “Staff will point to the calendar to show Marilyn what day they will buy those items.”
  • · Melanie Eidsmoe will have her staff test out the new tool with real teams and get back to the committee on any further edits they might have.
  • Annual recommendations

  • · Victoria Anderson volunteered to start a draft for the committee’s annual evaluation report.
  • · Committee representatives were asked to think about what they want their goals to be for 2024 and to come prepared to discuss those during the committee’s March and April meetings.
  • · The committee must have its report and recommendations ready by June 2024.
