Policy change to remove the MHM Y indicator eligibility requirement in the LTC screening document
Effective June 1, 2024, DHS will no longer require the MHM indicator to equal yes (Y) in the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) for a person to be eligible to enroll in MHM.
DHS still requires a recent screening document to establish the person’s institutional level of care. The selection in the screening document does not affect the person’s eligibility for MHM. On the MnCHOICES assessment, DHS requires the assessor to select “Yes” or “No” in the MHM field, but their response does not affect the person’s eligibility.
Background
DHS previously required the MHM indicator to equal yes (Y) in the MMIS LTC screening document for a person to be eligible to enroll in MHM.
