Residents' Rights Month
Each October, the Office of Ombudsman for Long-Term Care celebrates Residents’ Rights Month. This is a time for celebration and recognition. It offers an opportunity to increase awareness within the long-term care community to celebrate the dignity, respect and value of each individual resident.
This annual event honors people who live in long-term care facilities or receive services at home in the community. Residents’ rights and protections are the law and include the right to have privacy, be free of abuse and neglect, be treated with respect, make complaints and more.
