Purpose: To announce the start of DHS’ rolling implementation of the CDCS unbundling project

CDCS unbundling project implementation and policy changes

Effective Feb. 1, 2025, DHS will start the rolling implementation of the CDCS unbundling project. This project will:

· More accurately categorize goods and services in eight categories instead of four.

· Clarify provider qualifications.

· Clearly define services.

The current CDCS policy and CDCS unbundling project policy will be in effect at the same time.

Implementation instructions

People who currently receive CDCS services will:

· Continue their approved CDCS community support plan (CSP), DHS-6532, or alternative format.

· Transition to the new unbundled CDCS service categories after their annual reassessment, occurring on or after Feb. 1, 2025.

Note: The CDCS unbundling project will not change people’s CDCS budgets.

DHS will update the CDCS Policy Manual before implementation to:

· Prepare for the rolling implementation of the CDCS unbundling project.

· Clarify policy.

· Create new unbundled service category pages.

· Update existing bundled service category pages to explain the transition process.
