New resource about evidence-based practices

DHS is working on resources to share information about positive supports practice. The newest resource describes evidence-based practices, including:

  • · Why evidence-based practices matter.
  • · How to establish evidence-based practices.
  • · Requirements to effectively implement evidence-based practices in real-world settings.
  • To review the newest resource, refer to DHS – Evidence-based practices.

    How to use the evidence-based practices resource

    People can use this resource to:

  • · Help direct care providers understand and prioritize evidence-based practices.
  • · Follow a decision-making framework to select proven practices rather than popular or convenient practices.
  • · Emphasize the systems (e.g., leadership, training, policies, collaboration) needed to bring evidence-based practices into everyday practice.
  • · Clarify why evidence-based practices lead to better, more reliable outcomes for people receiving services.
