DHS encourages care professionals to review the following resources if their employer discontinues services. We are sharing this information because of the processes described in the Nov. 10, 2025, eList announcement.

    Employee-owned service provider businesses

    Several organizations in Minnesota can assist you directly or connect you with other organizations to join an employee-owned service provider business. For more information, refer to University of Minnesota Extension – Retaining rural businesses through employee ownership.

    Training and certification resources

    The following sections include certification requirements, training opportunities and other resources to pursue some select caregiving careers. You might already qualify for some of these jobs and can search for them using the job search resources above.

    Note: If you are not interested in pursuing a certification or further education, there are still many caregiving job opportunities for you, and many employers offer all necessary training.

    Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) professional

    Financial assistance for training

    For information about financial assistance for training, refer to:

  • · Your local college or university. Some programs offer financial aid or funding to train workers.
  • · Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) – Minnesota Dual Training Pipeline. This financial aid resource supports several health care professions.
