AASD and DSD eList announcement

Purpose: To announce a change in policy for people receiving home and community-based services (HCBS) waivers and Alternative Care (AC) who are incarcerated temporarily
Effective: June 11, 2024

Policy change to allow waivers/AC to stay open for 30 days during incarceration

Effective June 11, 2024, DHS updated policy to allow a person’s waiver or Alternative Care (AC) program to remain open for 30 days when they have been incarcerated temporarily. Before this policy change, lead agencies were required to close the waiver/AC as of the date of incarceration.
