Purpose: To share the available Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) online trainings

CFSS online trainings available

DHS has CFSS trainings for:

  • · People who receive services, their families and other interested parties.
  • · PCA and CSG workers.
  • · Provider agencies, including PCA owners, managers and qualified professionals.
  • · Lead agencies.
  • · Consultation services providers.
  • · Financial management services providers.
  • Training for people who receive services

    People who use PCA and CSG, their families and other interested parties can learn about CFSS with the videos on the training tab of DHS – CFSS. DHS will share more tools for people who receive services when they are available.

    Test and training for PCA and CSG workers

    DHS requires PCA and CFSS workers to pass the PCA/CFSS support workers test. DHS created a training to help them prepare for the test. The test and training are available on DHS – PCA and CFSS Training and Tests.

    Test and training for provider agencies

    DHS requires current PCA owners, managers and qualified professionals to pass the CFSS transition test for PCA agencies before they can enroll as a CFSS provider agency. DHS created a training to help them prepare for the test. The test and training are available on DHS – PCA and CFSS Training and Tests.

    Training for lead agencies

    Lead agency case managers and care coordinators can complete the CFSS for Lead Agencies training available in TrainLink. Use the following instructions to take the training:

  • · Go to TrainLink.
  • · Under “Learning Centers,” select Disability Services.
  • · Sign on in the upper-right corner.
  • · Enter your unique key.
  • · Select Course Catalog.
  • · Search for “CFSS_LA.”
  • · Select a session.
  • · Select Start course in the upper left.
  • DHS is currently developing a training on how to enter a CFSS service agreement into the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS). We will share this training with lead agencies when it is available.

    Training for consultation services providers

    DHS requires consultation services providers to complete the CFSS Consultation Services Training available in TrainLink and attend DHS’ CFSS consultation services webinars. Use the following instructions to take the training:

    FMS providers can complete the CFSS FMS Training available in TrainLink and attend DHS’ CFSS FMS webinars. Use the following instructions to take the training:

    CFSS is a Minnesota health care program that will replace PCA and CSG. For more information, refer to DHS – CFSS.
