Assisted living verification code requirement ends Aug. 1
Change is coming to the long-term care options counseling and verification code requirement for people considering moving into an assisted living facility. Effective Aug. 1, 2024, existing and potential residents will no longer need to get a verification code from the Senior LinkAge Line before signing a lease.
Assisted living facilities must share information about the Senior LinkAge Line with all prospective residents at the time of their initial facility tour or visit. To request the Senior LinkAge Line housing kiosk card (item #MBA-1050), call 800-333-2433 and press 1.
The Senior LinkAge Line is still available to support older Minnesotans who are considering a move. People with questions about housing or services can call 800-333-2433 and press 1. Assisted living providers can submit referrals directly to the Senior LinkAge Line through Senior LinkAge Line – Make a referral.
Lead agency instructions
The verification code field will remain in MnCHOICES until a future system update, and the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) will continue to auto-generate the verification code. Lead agencies can ignore the verification code field in both MnCHOICES and MMIS because it is not required.
