Purpose: To announce Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) updates for Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) implementation

MMIS updates for CFSS implementation
On Sept. 30, 2024, DHS made changes to MMIS to allow counties/tribal nations to enter CFSS service agreements in MMIS. For a complete list of changes, refer to DSD MMIS Reference Guide – MMIS transition from PCA and CSG to CFSS.
County and tribal nation actions
If the county/tribal nation conducts an assessment on or after Oct. 1, 2024, they:
If the county/tribal nation conducted an assessment before Oct. 1, 2024, but has not yet entered it into MMIS, the county/tribal nation authorizes PCA/CSG services. The MMIS changes do not affect PCA or CSG service agreement entry.

Background information
CFSS is a Minnesota Health Care Program that offers flexible options to meet the unique needs of people. It will replace PCA and CSG. DHS will begin to implement CFSS on Oct. 1, 2024. For more information, refer to:
