Purpose: To inform MMIS users that DHS is fixing an MMIS programming issue for exception code 635 related to transitional services

MMIS exception code 635 for transitional services
DHS is fixing an MMIS programming issue for the exception code 635 (i.e., transitional service limit exceeded) related to transitional service line items (i.e., T2038, T2038 U1 and T2038 U2) for the following waivers:
Until DHS fixes the issue, the limit before the Jan. 1, 2025, rate increase (i.e., $3,000 limit for T2038, including $1,000 limit for T2038 U1 and $300 limit for T2038 U2) applies to all service start dates.
After DHS fixes the issue, the limit after the Jan. 1, 2025, rate increase will apply to all service start dates on or after Jan. 1, 2025. For more information, refer to the Nov. 12, 2024, eList announcement.

Lead agency actions
If a lead agency gets exception code 635 for transitional service line items, they must reduce the line items to the individual and combined line limits in effect before the Jan. 1, 2025, rate increase.

Note: If the lead agency cannot increase the approved amount(s) on the line item(s) because billing occurred on the lines, they must ask SASD to make the changes using SASD Support Team Portal, DHS-3754.
