Applications open for Waiver Reimagine Advisory Committee

DHS is accepting applications to fill seven seats on the Waiver Reimagine Advisory Committee.

Use the following information to apply:

  • · Deadline: April 8, 2025
  • · Instructions: To apply, complete an online application at Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon – Board/Commission: Waiver Reimagine Advisory Committee. After you complete the application, DHS will email you a link to a questionnaire.
    Note: You must complete both the online application and the questionnaire for DHS to consider you for an open position.
  • Who should apply

    The open membership categories include:

  • · People with disabilities who use waiver services (four open seats, including one from greater Minnesota and one from the Twin Cities metropolitan area).
  • · Family members of people under age 21 who use waiver services (one open seat).
  • · Disability and behavioral health advocates (two open seats).
  • We will take diversity among committee members into account to ensure a variety of perspectives. Areas of diversity include:

  • · Racial and/or ethnic backgrounds.
  • · Age.
  • · Primary language.
  • · Type of disability.
  • · Gender identity.
  • Committee responsibilities

    The Waiver Reimagine Advisory Committee is responsible to provide input on the continuing development and implementation of Waiver Reimagine, including but not limited to:

  • · How to determine individual budgets.
  • · Criteria and exception process for individual budgets.
  • · Consolidation of the four current home and community-based waiver service programs (i.e., Brain Injury, Community Alternative Care, Community Access for Disability Inclusion and Developmental Disabilities waivers) into two waiver programs (i.e., Residential Support and Individual Support waivers).
