To: People who receive personal care services, including personal care assistance (PCA), Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) and waiver services

Purpose: To announce opportunities for people who receive services to provide feedback about the possible impact if DHS allowed provider agencies to receive reimbursement for worker wages for overtime hours

Feedback about provider reimbursement for worker overtime

DHS requests feedback from people who receive services. We want to know about the possible impact on people who receive services if DHS allowed provider agencies to receive reimbursement for worker wages for:

  • · Overtime hours.
  • · Overnight hours while awake.
  • · Overnight hours while asleep.
  • · Shifts up to 80 consecutive hours.
  • We invite people who receive services to provide feedback through a survey or focus group sessions.

    Focus group sessions

    DHS and our contractor will host three focus group sessions. Each session will include five to eight people and last about 1.5 hours. We do not expect people to answer all the questions.

  • Background information

    DHS is exploring possible reimbursement options for provider agencies for worker wages for overtime, overnight hours while awake, overnight hours while asleep and shifts up to 80 consecutive hours. We plan to present select options to the legislature. The legislature will decide any changes to implement. DHS will send an eList announcement to announce any changes.
