To: People who receive personal care assistance (PCA), Consumer Support Grant (CSG) and Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) services, families, providers, lead agencies and other interested parties

CFSS implementation updates
DHS began the transition from PCA and CSG to CFSS on Oct. 1, 2024. We will provide regular updates throughout the transition.
Update to avoid gaps in services
People currently receiving PCA/CSG services who do not have an approved CFSS service delivery plan before their next assessment will be able to continue receiving PCA/CSG services while they continue to work on transitioning to CFSS.

MMIS instructions
DHS updated DSD MMIS Reference Guide – Finalize a type B SA for PCA/CFSS to add more situations when the county/tribal nation must deny or pend lines on the ASA3 screen and/or the SA.
DHS updated DSD MMIS Reference Guide – Type B SA for CSG to clarify instructions in the transition from CSG to CFSS section.
DHS updated the following pages to explain the county/tribal nation can now edit a type B CFSS SA for up to 183 days after the SA start date:

MMIS system updates
DHS updated MMIS to allow the county/tribal nation to:
DHS continues to test and fix bugs in MMIS. Counties/tribal nations can use Service Agreement and Screening Document (SASD) Support Team Portal, DHS 3754 to report issues to DHS.
Reminders
DHS encourages counties/tribal nations to review the lead agency instructions for people who need additional time to complete the transition from PCA to CFSS on CFSS Manual – Assessment for PCA/CFSS services. When the county/tribal nation enters a second PCA SA for a person who needs additional time to complete the transition to CFSS, the county/tribal nation must enter a new SA with a start date immediately following the end date of the first six-month SA.
