CFSS implementation updates

DHS began the transition from PCA and CSG to CFSS on Oct. 1, 2024. We will provide regular updates throughout the transition.

Policy manual

DHS made the following changes:

· Updated CFSS Manual – Assessment for PCA/CFSS services to clarify that people using Alternative Care (AC) must transition to CFSS by March 31, 2026.

· Updated CFSS Manual – CFSS service delivery plan development and approval process to match updates to CFSS Individual Service Delivery Plan, DHS-6893P.

DHS posted CFSS Manual – Resource: CFSS mid-year changes for counties and tribal nations, a new resource on how to make mid-year changes to a person’s CFSS service delivery plan.

DHS updated the following pages to match the mid-year changes resource:

· CFSS Manual – PCA/CFSS service delivery plan changes.

· CFSS Manual – Changing PCA/CFSS providers.

· CFSS Manual – PCA/CFSS service agreement technical changes and corrections.

Forms and documents

DHS updated:

· CFSS Assessment, DHS-6893A with updated functionality to describe activities of daily living (ADL) needs that do not meet the definition of a dependency and an MMIS summary to help counties/tribal nations enter service agreements (SAs) more efficiently.

· CFSS Manual – Resource: Instructions for CFSS Assessment, DHS-6893A to match the changes to CFSS Assessment, DHS-6893A.

MMIS instructions

DHS updated DSD MMIS Reference Guide – Finalize type B SA to clarify the county/tribal nation must enter the applicable status on each line on the ASA3 screen and to add instructions to follow if the county/tribal nation makes an error they cannot edit.

MMIS system updates

DHS continues to test and fix bugs in MMIS. Counties/tribal nations can use Service Agreement and Screening Document (SASD) Support Team Portal, DHS 3754 to report issues to DHS.

Training

Planned server maintenance may impact CFSS trainings and calculator tools from approximately 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025.
