Purpose: To clarify EIDBI service coordination requirements with educational services and new limits on billing during homeschool or virtual instruction

Updates to EIDBI service coordination with homeschooled students, including online school
Effective Jan. 1, 2026, EIDBI providers must not deliver or bill for the following direct intervention services during homeschool or online/virtual school instruction:

Covered services
Providers may continue to deliver clinically necessary family/caregiver training (i.e., billing code 97156) during homeschool or virtual school instruction if the parent or caregiver is present and participates.
