2026 innovation grants RFP is open

DHS is accepting proposals from qualified applicants to support innovative strategies to improve outcomes for people with disabilities.

Grant details

We will prioritize proposals that serve people who are eligible for or receive home and community-based services. We seek proposals that address four primary service areas:

  • · Integrated housing.
  • · Integrated, competitive employment.
  • · Transportation accessibility, safety and inclusivity.
  • · Community-centered and culturally relevant services.
  • Grant amounts

    The 2026 innovation grants RFP includes two programs:

  • · Innovation small grant program: Grants up to $60,000 per year.
  • · Innovation large grant program: Grants up to $160,000 per year.
  • Application information

    Use the following information to apply for a 2026 innovation grant:

  • · Funding cycle: The funding cycle will start either July 1, 2026, or Aug. 1, 2026, and end June 30, 2028.
  • · Number of grantees: We expect to award contracts to up to nine qualified applicants for the small grant program and up to six qualified applicants for the large grant program.
  • · Application deadline for letters of interest (LOI): Jan. 27, 2026

  • Next steps

    We will invite selected LOIs to submit a full proposal. We expect to notify selected applicants by the end of March 2026.
