Ongoing efforts to improve MnCHOICES security

DHS is working on the following changes to improve MnCHOICES security:

· We will add required multi-factor authentication (MFA) to the MnCHOICES log-in process in February 2026.

· We will make changes to roles and workflows in MnCHOICES and email more information to MnCHOICES mentors later this month.

We are adding the security measures listed above to the following security measures already in place:

· Systems Security and Access Management (SSAM) monitors MnCHOICES users who have not logged in for 60 days. SSAM deactivates user accounts after 90 days, in accordance with Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) enterprise standard requirements.

· We conduct annual access recertification for MnCHOICES users and plan to do this in March 2026.
