CFSS implementation updates

DHS began the transition from PCA and CSG to CFSS on Oct. 1, 2024. We will provide regular updates throughout the transition.

Reminders

DHS reminds counties/tribal nations that all people receiving PCA on the Alternative Care (AC) program must complete the transition to CFSS by March 31, 2026.

Policy manual

DHS updated:

  • · CFSS Manual – Resource: CFSS mid-year changes for people age 65 or older who are enrolled in a managed care organization (MCO) to better align with CFSS Manual – Resource: CFSS mid-year changes for counties and tribal nations.
  • · CFSS Manual – PCA/CFSS covered personal care services to add more examples of covered and non-covered instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
  • · CFSS Manual – Goods and services through CFSS to clarify the definition of covered goods and services and add information about covered swimming lessons for some children to comply with 2025 legislative changes.
  • Forms and documents

    DHS updated CFSS Manual – Forms and documents with more detailed information about who uses each form and when to use them.

    MMIS instructions

    For details about all manual updates, refer to DSD MMIS Reference Guide.

    MMIS system updates

    DHS continues to test and fix bugs in MMIS. Counties/tribal nations can use Service Agreement and Screening Document (SASD) Support Team Portal, DHS 3754 to report issues to DHS.
