Extension to CFSS transition timeline

Effective immediately, DHS extended the deadline for the transition from PCA and CSG to CFSS. People who have not completed the transition have until Sept. 30, 2027, to do so.

Notes:

  • · People on Alternative Care (AC) can no longer use PCA, so this extension does not apply to them. For more information, refer to the March 25, 2026, eList announcement.
  • · People cannot use extended PCA services after Sept. 30, 2026.
  • Lead agency instructions

If a person needs more time to transition to CFSS after their PCA/CSG service agreement ends, the lead agency must enter an additional six months of PCA/CSG services.

Note: The lead agency must not modify existing service agreements right now to extend PCA/CSG services. If necessary, the lead agency can enter an additional six months of PCA/CSG services after the end of the person’s existing service agreement.

For detailed PCA instructions, refer to CFSS Manual Assessment for PCA/CFSS services. DHS is working to update CBSM – CSG to reflect this change.
