CFSS implementation updates

DHS began the transition from PCA and CSG to CFSS on Oct. 1, 2024. We will provide regular updates throughout the transition.

Policy manual

DHS made the following changes:

  • · Updated CFSS Manual – Assessment for PCA/CFSS services and CBSM – CSG transition to CFSS to reflect the CFSS transition extension announced in the May 12, 2026, eList announcement.
  • · Updated CFSS Manual – CFSS consultation services overview to clarify information about billable and non-billable tasks and remove an incorrect statement about Alternative Care (AC)/Elderly Waiver (EW) budget caps in the requesting additional sessions section.
  • · Updated CFSS Manual – Reassessments and CFSS Manual – Instructions for CFSS Assessment, DHS-6893A to clarify that counties and Tribal Nations must complete all assessments for people age 64 and older in MnCHOICES.
  • Forms and documents

    DHS posted Consultation Services Setup and Annual Orientation Checklist, DHS-6893J.

    MMIS system updates

    DHS continues to test and fix bugs in MMIS. Counties/Tribal Nations can use Service Agreement and Screening Document (SASD) Support Team Portal, DHS 3754 to report issues to DHS.

    Reminders

    DHS reminds all consultation services providers that they must complete the updated version of the TrainLink course CFSS consultation services provider training (course code CFSS_CS) by June 30, 2026.

    DHS reminds lead agencies that when authorizing consultation services, the lead agency must always authorize six units. The lead agency must not prorate the units.
