Adaptive or one-on-one swimming lessons in CDCS community support plans

The lead agency may approve the entire cost of adaptive or one-on-one swimming lessons listed in a person’s CDCS community support plan if all the following are true:

  • · The person has a disability that puts them at a higher risk of drowning.
  • · The person has a qualified instructor.
  • · The person uses CDCS on the Brain Injury (BI), Community Alternative Care (CAC), Community Access for Disability Inclusion (CADI) or Developmental Disabilities (DD) waivers.
  • · The adaptive or one-on-one swimming lessons meet the criteria for allowable expenditures on CDCS – Allowable and unallowable goods and services under CDCS.
