Listening session about positive supports guided training series

DHS will host a live listening session to preview an upcoming guided training series that will help organizations embed positive support practices into everyday operations to:

· Improve staff confidence.

· Reduce crises.

· Enhance quality of life for people receiving services.

Listening session details

Use the following information to attend the listening session:

· Date: Nov. 20, 2026

· Time: Noon to 1 p.m.

Guided training series details

DHS, in partnership with the University of Minnesota’s Institute on Community Integration, is offering a multi-year opportunity for agencies to strengthen organization-wide systems through person-centered positive behavior support (PBS).

Over the course of three years, selected organizations will:

· Engage in a structured training and technical assistance process designed to build capacity for integrating person-centered practices with other positive supports.

· Receive training, technical assistance and evaluation support tailored to their organization.

· Develop and implement action plans that build a positive, person-centered organizational culture.

· Learn to apply PBS strategies at three levels to improve quality of life, prevent problems and provide individualized supports.

· Collaborate with regional networks to expand statewide capacity for person-centered and positive support practices.
