9.9 Options for 18- & 19-Year Old Parents

18- and 19-year old parents can choose either a work or an education option.

What are the employment plan activities? | ||
Do months count for 60 month time limit? See 18.3 (The 60-Month Time Limit Policy). | No – if the participant is attending school at least half-time. | Yes. |
Does earned income count? | No – if the participant is attending school at least half-time. | Yes. |
What does the participant do to comply? | Attend School. | Do any activities that are part of the employment plan. |
What plan type should be used in Workforce One? | 18-19-year old, No HS diploma/GED. (Select School only or School and Work option in the plan). | 18-19-year old, No HS diploma/GED. (Select Work only option in the plan). |
The school determines satisfactory progress and adequate attendance.
18- and 19-year-old parents can switch between the 2 options.
If participants who want to change options are in sanction or have received notices about sanctions, they must do the following in order to change options:
