9.29 Minnesota Paid Leave & Teen Parents

ISSUE DATE: 02/2026

All teen parents are eligible for the Minnesota (MN) Paid Leave exemption.

Parents receiving MN Paid Leave are eligible for an exemption from participating in employment services. Details about this exemption are available in 5.23 (Minnesota Paid Leave Exemption).

Minor parents and 18- or 19-year-old parents taking the education option or work option can take the exemption for MN Paid Leave.
