19.27 Pre-60 Month Sanctions

The policies in this section apply to participants who have not reached their 60-month lifetime limit.
Every month that a participant fails to comply with a requirement is counted as a separate occurrence of non-compliance.
The number of occurrences result in different sanction policies.
1st Occurrence in Sanction.
What Sanction Is Imposed. | A 10% sanction of the monthly maximum MFIP cash and food benefit for the family size. |
How Long the Sanction Must Remain In Place. | One month. |
Timelines for Curing the Sanction. | The sanction can be lifted on or before 10 days prior to the effective date of the sanction. |
Curing the Sanction. | The sanction is lifted in the month after the month that the participant returns to compliance. |
Special Provisions for 2-Parent Families. | Applies to a 2-parent household in which 1 participant does not comply. |
Workforce One. | Place sanctioned participants in “Holding – Sanctioned”. |
Requirements to Review . | No. |
2nd Occurrence in Sanction
What Sanction Is Imposed. | A 30% sanction of the maximum MFIP cash and food benefit for the family size that may include vendoring, see 19.12 (Sanction Types). |
How Long the Sanction Must Remain In Place. | At least 1 month. |
Timelines for Curing the Sanction. | The sanction can be lifted on or before 10 days prior to the effective date of the sanction. |
Procedures for Resolving the Sanction. | |
Special Provisions for 2-Parent Families. | The sanction is lifted in the month after the month both parents return to compliance. |
